Greg was born and raised in the Midwest and attended the University of Iowa where he earned a Bachelors degree in Finance in 1988. Greg spent the next four years honing his business management and decision making skills, first as a financial and marketing analyst for a Fortune 100 manufacturing company, then as a branch sales manager for the same firm. He followed that practical experience by accepting an invitation to attend Duke University where he earned a Masters in Business in 1994. Following his time at Duke, Greg worked as a healthcare financial consultant for Ernst and Young, LLP.
It was during the time at E&Y that the seeds sprouted for the start of a career in wealth management. In the mid 90s, Greg accepted an offer from a large regional firm as a Financial Advisor. Over the years that followed, that firm was merged with a mid-sized bank, then large bank. With the strong desire to operate a client-centered, goal-driven wealth management practice, Greg transitioned his base of clients and experience / abilities and founded BluHawk Wealth Management, LLC, in June of 2013 in beautiful Davidson, NC.
During Greg’s more than 26-year career in wealth management, clients have benefited from a range of products and services focusing the fundamentals of first, you the client, your greatest cares, concerns and goals. Second, BluHawk Wealth Management applies a keen analytical focus on the "fertility of the soil" in the investment landscape over time. Finally, portfolio design is unique to the individual client based on a combination of client fundamentals, needs and goals, and our data-driven opinion of the investment landscape.
Greg has been consistently recognized as among the top Wealth Managers in the greater Charlotte area; in 2022, he was once again awarded the prestigious Five-Star Wealth Manager Award, his eleventh consecutive award since 2012.*
He holds his Series 7, 63 and 9 & 10 registrations with LPL Financial and his Series 66 with both LPL Financial and Merit Financial Group. He is licensed to work with clients in the states of CO, FL, GA, IA, KS, MO, NC, NY, OR, PA, LA, DC and SC.
Through its access to LPL Financial, the largest non-bank broker/dealer in the U.S., (as reported in Financial Planning Magazine, June 1996-2022, based on total revenue), BluHawk Wealth is able to offer high-level financial and retirement planning technology, research, and non-proprietary investment products.
